FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do models need to be full nude?

Yes. Sorry no exceptions.

Can artists bring an assistant?

Yes. They need to fill out an application and list the artist they would like to assist. We also accept general artist assistants.

Are there any age restrictions?

This event is open to the public and can be viewed by people and children of all ages. All artists and models must be at least 18 years old and must have ID.

Can we use airbrush?

No, Kryolan is donated all of the paint, which comes in cake form. Artists need to bring their own brushes.

Can we use our own paints?

Kryolan is the sponsor for the event. Here is the palette for this year. If you would like to bring any additional colors, they must be Kryolan brand.

What about things like headdresses, fake nails, etc?

Sorry, no accessories. We are just keeping this to the nude body and paint.

I am a model. Do I need to shave anywhere?

This is 100% up to you. But body hair is fine. Hair is natural, so we have no problem with it.

What if someone is being creepy?

The vast majority of spectators will be behaving themselves properly. That being said, there are occasions when someone might say or do something that can make our models uncomfortable. Please do not hesitate to contact event staff for any reason and please do not confront any people yourselves.

Are you sure that this is legal? What happens if police or security question me?

This is all perfectly legal. We have received permits from proper authorities and police have been informed of all activities.
That being said, if anyone such as park security were to ask you any questions, please refer them to event staff.

Am I allowed to speak to the press?

There may be a lot of press coverage at this event. If you'd like to answer questions and get in the newspaper or TV, feel free to do so and have fun!

What do we need to bring with us?

Artists need to bring their own brushes and a towel for their model to stand on (to keep the ground clean).

Models should pack as light as possible and bring a small bag or knapsack for your belongings which at times your artist will be carrying for you.
If you have long hair, please bring something to tie your hair up. Also, you should wear comfortable shoes.

What happens if I don't have a model/artist?

Artists and Models will be matched up through a random process during registration on the day of the event.
Unfortunately there are NO exceptions.

Registration is from 10-11am. What time should I arrive?

It's best to get there at 10am.

Is there anything I need to know about painting as part of a large group?

With so many models, your work will often be seen at a distance. Detail work is great, but it's a good idea to use bold lines and colors.

What happens if it rains?

All events are rain or shine. There will be large canopies that people can stand under in the case of rain. If the weather looks like rain, feel free to bring your own umbrella.
